Gold

Cyanidation remains the dominant gold extraction process. Olfa supplies across every stage of a modern CIL or CIP plant — from grinding media and lime through activated carbon and elution chemicals to tailings detoxification.

The Cyanidation Circuit

Ore is crushed and ground to liberate gold particles, then leached with a weakly alkaline cyanide solution. Dissolved gold is adsorbed onto activated carbon in CIL or CIP tanks, eluted, and refined to doré. Cyanide in the tailings stream is destroyed before discharge.

Each stage has a predictable consumable bill. The diagram below shows where Olfa supplies into that bill — and the list underneath maps it out in metallurgist's terms.

Gold cyanidation process flow: run-of-mine ore is crushed and ground, cyanide-leached, adsorbed onto activated carbon in CIL or CIP, then eluted and smelted to doré. Tailings are separately treated and detoxified.

What Olfa Supplies, Stage by Stage

Crush & grind

Forged steel grinding balls (40–125 mm), high-chrome cast media, mill liners and wear parts.

Cyanide leach

Cyanide through licensed channels, quicklime for pH control, lead nitrate as leach accelerator, magnesium oxide, oxygen supply support.

CIL / CIP & elution

Coconut-shell activated carbon (6×12 mesh, CTC 60+), caustic soda, hydrochloric acid for carbon regeneration.

Tailings & water

Sodium metabisulphite for cyanide destruction, copper sulphate as catalyst, anionic polyacrylamide flocculants.

Refining

Borax and silica fluxes, crucibles, assay consumables.
